Configuration

Can be found in Oxylight.SpeedrunTypingSound.cfg, hot reload supported!

| Setting | Default | Description |

| --- | --- | --- |

| Enabled | true | Replace the terminal typing sound. |

| ReplaceThirdPerson | true | Also replace the sound you hear when teammates typing in terminal. |

| Volume | 0.5 | Loudness, 0.0–1.0. 0.0 mutes completely. |

| HearingDistanceMeters | 15 | How far away you hear it, 0–50 m in 5 m steps. 0 = you hear nothing. |

The slider is linear in decibels, not amplitude, so it tracks perceived loudness and the useful range spans the whole slider rather than bunching up near zero. Resolution is 2 dB per step, over 31 steps.

| Volume | Result | Amplitude |

| --- | --- | --- |

| 1.00 | 0 dB — original, very loud | 1.000 |

| 0.75 | −15 dB | 0.178 |

| 0.60 | −24 dB | 0.063 |

| 0.50 | −30 dB (default) | 0.032 |

| 0.40 | −36 dB | 0.016 |

| 0.25 | −45 dB | 0.006 |

| 0.00 | fully muted | 0 |

Mute is a real mute: the plugin substitutes Wwise event id 0, so no sound is posted at all rather than an inaudible one being mixed.

Hot reload

This mod watches its own config file and calls ConfigFile.Reload() when it changes, so saving the file applies the new volume on the next keystroke — no restart, no returning to lobby.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. Most mods rely on the game's mod loader — the usual route is a community mod manager (such as r2modman): pick this game, install, and it handles the loader and dependencies.
  3. For a manual install, put the mod files into the matching Mod / plugins folder inside the game directory.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; mods with listed dependencies need those installed as well.

Install locations vary a lot between mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
