Allows datablocks to inherit fields from another.
About this mod Author’s original text
InheritanceDataBlocks
Allows developers to specify an additional field in any vanilla datablock, parentID. This causes the block to pull data from the given ID to fill any non-specified fields.
Example
GameData_ArchetypeDataBlock_bin.json
// Creates a new archetype using values from ID 5
// but with Damage and DefaultClipSize changed
{
"Damage": 4,
"DefaultClipSize": 50,
"parentID": 5,
"name": "Assault Rifle Upgraded",
"persistentID": 205
},
// Creates a new archetype using values from ID 205 (which borrows from ID 5)
// but with Damage and DefaultReloadTime changed
{
"Damage": 5,
"DefaultReloadTime": 1.0,
"parentID": 205,
"name": "Assault Rifle Upgraded Stage 2",
"persistentID": 305
}
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- Most mods rely on the game's mod loader — the usual route is a community mod manager (such as r2modman): pick this game, install, and it handles the loader and dependencies.
- For a manual install, put the mod files into the matching Mod / plugins folder inside the game directory.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; mods with listed dependencies need those installed as well.
Install locations vary a lot between mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
