Updated on December 25th with experimental compatible SS2 patch:

Please use at your own risk!

An experimental patch that should change the way YAWA2 handles SS2 outposts and their vassals so that they are treated as normal settlements rather than raider settlements.

SS2 is complex and may be buggy or incomplete.

Updated on September 5th:

Version 1.08

Fixed a crash due to YAWA2 background maintenance tasks being prone to position conflicts elsewhere in the load order. To prevent this, utility missions no longer prioritize militia near the player for cleanup. Thanks to Exoclyps and HellsHound for helping verify this!

Fixed a crash caused by using an AI pack configurator escort that was susceptible to navmesh conflicts elsewhere in the load order. They now use the simpler "focus" package instead of the original "scope" package they originally used. Thanks to Rowan Skye for taking the time to help me verify and resolve this issue.

Adjusted how defensive encounters with Raiders, Super Mutants, and Gunslingers are handled to make them more stringent on spawn conditions. This should help reduce over-spawn of militia.

Adjusted the Flare Gun utility mission to allow Militia to react to other Militia to stop when the battle ends or the Militia calling for help dies. This should reduce idle time after combat.

Adjusted the controllability of the Flare Gun to prevent militiamen from firing the Flare Gun while the Flare Gun's reactive function is on cooldown. This should reduce how often you see and hear flares.

Updated on July 1, 2025:

Version 1.07

Note: This update will significantly reduce the number of Vigilantes some players encounter, by fixing a bug that allowed them to exist indefinitely and cleaning up Vigilantes that should no longer appear.

Increased the cooldown for encounters at Waypoints.

A keyword has been added to indicate that a transfer station is near water and can generate water-themed combat encounters.

Added minimum level for encounters featuring Atom Children or Mire Crab Queens.

Added a way for patch authors to blacklist specific targets for patrolling.

Added a way for patch authors to prevent specific teleporters from spawning combat encounters. (This is most useful for Waystations patched for compatibility with the Settlement Mod)

More decoration was added to the transfer station near the Peabody House to make it clear that the railings were there intentionally.

New combat-focused Waystation encounters have been added, containing the following enemies: Wolves, Moles, Bloatflies, Radiated Cockroaches, Stinger Wings, Super Mutants, Forges, Children of the Atom, Trigger Hands, Rust Demons, Mire Crabs, Mire Crab Queens.

Added specialized defensive encounters, as well as spawning higher level militia to deal with the following enemies when getting too close to the way station: Deathclaws, Sentinels, Super Mutant Behemoths, Super Mutants, Reavers, Gunslingers.

Added Wasteland Workshop as a new requirement to prevent the above defensive encounters from targeting tamed creatures.

Adjusted Waystation encounters featuring Super Mutants, Gunslingers, Reavers, Feral Ghouls, and Children of the Atom so that they only occur when close to the associated uncleared location.

Created new YAWA2 specific vendor inventory for more consistent processing.

Giving traders more caps than before.

Improved false internal processing for proper sound suppression in inclement weather.

Improved Provisioner Guard handling. This should also resolve most (probably all) issues with IDEK.

Improved shop object handling to prevent attached parts from becoming orphaned or detached components.

Fixed an issue where Minu …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
