Version V1.08
Chinese patch:
Author's words:
Militia seems pretty useless, doesn't it? Help these settlers! Kill those attackers! Another settlement needs your help! All of this and more is what is required of a general, what do you get in return? none! Militias existed only in theory. There are no locations that you didn't build yourself, and aside from your settlement and a few random encounters, there are no NPCs.
Now, they have an army. In fact, your army.
feature
As you progress through the Militia questline, thirty small Militia locations will appear.
Militia patrols will roam between these locations and your inhabited settlements.
Three new workbench items unlocked by completing Militia missions.
Militia now spawn to escort your settlement supplies.
Precomposed and retained to improve performance and compatibility.
FAQ
How to start using this mod?
Just install it! No configuration or special steps are required.
Is it safe to install on an existing archive?
Yes, of course. I'm sure if you install it into an existing archive it will work fine.
Why not release it as an update to the old mod?
Because it's a fundamentally different player experience compared to the old mod. I've rebuilt the original twice and was never happy with it, but these rebuilds produced a very similar experience to the original. This creates a distinct result that I can add as much as I want, but the result is guaranteed to be viewed as a different mod.
What about the Automatron and robot patrols from the original mod?
I have plans for what to do with Automatron, but those plans will take a while, so I can't give a specific timeline.
What about the betrayal feature in Nuka World and the original mod?
Just like Automatron, the best I can give you right now is that I have plans but no ETA. For now, it will work as is, and the Workshop feature has a special treatment for the Nuka World mechanic to prevent militias from guarding your raiders.
Do you want to do things for other factions too?
Yes, of course. But like Nuka World and Automata, it took me a long time to build it in a way that I was happy with.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
