What does Wrye Bash do?
Wrye Bash is a powerful mod management tool for TES IV: Oblivion, TES V: Skyrim, Fallout 4 and TES V Skyrim SE.
It is a mod installation and file conflict manager
Plugin loading order manager
Screenshot manager .ini and settings file adjustment management.
It's safe to try new mods as it restores everything just like if you uninstalled the mod
It makes more mods compatible with each other by importing information from different mods into "bashed patches"
document
Basic information is in the OP of the Wrye Bash thread on the BethSoft forum linked to above. For more information, please visit

Requirements and installation:
Lite version:
Just use the installer and install to the Fallout 4 folder! When installing dependencies, simply install them to the default location.
Long version:
There are two versions: Python version and standalone version. They are functionally equivalent. Most people should run the Standalone version as it is slightly simpler (no need to install external Python components). However, the Python version allows you to follow rapidly developed code and is therefore preferred.
The installer will automatically handle the dependency installation of the Python version. However, if you want or need to do it manually, see the installation section in the general readme for information and the advanced readme for detailed instructions.
Note that even if you are using a 64-bit operating system, you will need the 32-bit version
Then:
For manual installation of the Standalone or Python version, extract the archive in the Fallout 4 game folder so that the Mopy directory appears in the Fallout 4 directory
For the Python version, double-click Wrye Bash Launcher.pyw to run
For WBSA (Wrye Bash StandAlone), double-click Wrye Bash.exe to run
Remember! In Windows Vista and above, do not install Fallout 4 in the Program Files folder due to User Account Control!

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
