About this mod Machine translation

Workshop Rearranged is a complete overhaul of Fallout 4's workshop system. While a fully functional and complete mod, it is a work in progress and will change over time.

Some updates may require player intervention, but there's never anything that will harm your rescue game. It is recommended that you read the changelog for each new release. There are articles describing the major changes and listing available patches.

Non-exhaustive list of features:

Add thousands of new objects via the seminar menu.

This is a decidedly user-friendly mod, or at least tries to. I hope it works into your game.

New items have proper menu icons, collisions, navmesh and snap points.

New menu organization and categories designed to make menus easier to navigate and to take advantage of Bethesda's built-in systems whenever possible to free up space for other mods to add items.

An expanded capture system to increase creative possibilities when building settlements.

Many objects, such as walls, garbage fences, power towers and generators, can be sunk into the ground.

Support system, including columns, beams, wall triangles and foundations.

A selection of patchwork items including navigation flooring, rug coverings, wall gap fillers and more.

New goods in different sizes are available in more places, including checkout general stores.

Expanded trash component yields, improved trash weights, heavier trash with more material of the same type, etc.

All parts weigh 0.1 units to alleviate issues you should not overload on site.

Rename workshop objects based on section and type.

Retooled builds and scrap recipes are consistent with each other rather than arbitrarily punishing players.

Construction costs and scrap returns modified to be more balanced and semi-realistic.

Perk requirements for build objects are now tied to possible build objects.

Improvements to vanilla NPC paths, including extending/adding navmesh and navcut collisions on many objects.

Various bug fixes and usability improvements.

Integrate menu patches so that unwritten/old versions that were previously incompatible due to menu conflicts can be used together.

compatibility:

Mods that directly edit the menu are not compatible. If your favorite mod causes certain menus to disappear, consider asking its author to switch to a script injection method. If they don't respond or don't want to, please let me know and I'll consider providing a patch. Several patches have been provided and they are generally easy to make.

Many patches are provided to integrate other mods into the new menu, or to make it consistent with my changes. Most of the patched new menus are integrated directly into WorkshopRearranged.esp, so all patched mods should be higher in your load order or they won't work. This is done so that incompatible mods that edit the same menu (and were more or less abandoned by the author) can be used together so that I don't have to update the patch every time I change the menu.

Workshop rearrangements are compatible with unofficial patches. Fixes for UOFP will be incorporated into WR.

Mods that use the default method (vanilla menu) to add items to the workshop are generally compatible and require special consideration. In the case of subsections in the menu, there is a special menu, usually called "Mods". For example, instead of everything in the world being dumped into the "Chairs" menu, stuff from your favorite furniture mods will go into "Furniture -> Seats -> Mods". Unless the mod is doing something unorthodox, this is a good way to see what's being rearranged by Workshop and sort out duplicates automatically. If there's a mod you'd like to see integrated into a new category let me know and I'll see if I can patch it.

Workshop Rearranged is not compatible with other similar overhauls, especially those that edit the workshop menu, such as Homemaker. I don't plan on patching such a mod at this time.

Homemaker (and other mods) can be mad …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
