About this mod Machine translation
design concept
At the time of design, it seemed to me that the core gameplay functionality of Settlements was completely unaffected by this framework. If you install it in your game, you should notice no difference other than some bugs it fixes and overall performance improvements for settlement-related activities. All gaming options remain the same and always will be.
That said, some work very differently behind the scenes in order to open new tweaking options, so while players can safely install it without thinking about it, if you're a mod author - you probably care a lot about what this does! So, to allay your fears, I offer the following:
- I didn't change any vanilla properties or function signatures. If you currently expect a function or property from an existing studio script - it will still exist so your code will not break.
- Now that it's released, I will never change any property names or function signatures in Workshop Framework. Whenever I'm forced to tweak a feature, I keep the original version and simply point to the updated version. This way you can be confident that your WSFW-based mod will continue to work between versions.
- I will do my best to keep this code bug-free and am open to suggestions and improvements to the codebase so that we can all have a flexible, strong core to work from.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
