*As the title states, the workshop framework is also an important prerequisite for the SS2 trilogy I released. It used to be far ahead of the update, but it has not been very active recently, so I will make an additional diversion first so that it can respond to the new version in real time. *

TLDR: Workshop Framework attempts to open up the settlement system in a way that many mod authors can contribute (not just coders! There's a lot that even the greenest mod authors can take advantage of). It has direct benefits for players as outlined in the list of player-focused features below.
If you use an unofficial patch - make sure Workshop Framework comes after it in your load order.
Next generation update information
Starting with 2.4.0, the Workshop framework is now available for next-gen updates to Fallout 4. Players who choose to stick with pre-next-gen versions of Fallout 4 should still update, but also download "old-gen replacer" files and overwrite the base mod files with these. This will ensure you have the latest patches for WSFW but still have the dll/pex files to support earlier versions of F4SE.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
