Work in progress - keep track of new updates
It’s a full-featured companion that generates AI voices.
He uses a shotgun he is known to have with explosive ammunition.
Found him hanging out at the Drumlin Diner near Trudy and Wolfgang.
content:
- Wight Cooper Howard
- Full-time work partner
- Cooper Outfits (thanks to tumbajamba)
- Cooper revolver shotgun
- Cooper Lever Rifle
Prerequisites:
- DLC Far Harbor (required for Cooper Lever Rifle)
- DLC Nuka World (required for Western Hat)
- MTs255 Revolver Shotgun (If you don't have it installed, Cooper will use Valentine's Iron Tube Revolver)
- MTS-255 Revolver Shotgun Enhancement (Fixed the inspection button on Cooper's Revolver Shotgun)
Installation method:
Drag and drop files into the Data folder or use a mod manager (Mod Organizer 2 or Vortex recommended)
- XBOX version
Update log:
v0.2 - Works with custom shotguns. 2 lip-synced voices.
v0.41 - New gear thanks to tumbajanba. Fixed weapon inspection. Nuka World is now required.
v0.44 - Added side rifle. Rebalanced Cooper statistics. Far Harbor is now needed.
v0.47 - Added Cooper Lever shotgun and belt buckle to costume (thanks to tumbajamba).
v0.50 - Added playable costumes.
v0.60 - Full AI voice. Including the redesign of the big shoulder outfit (a bit misplaced)
v0.61 - Full lip sync. Includes big shoulder costume redesign (a bit misplaced)
v0.62 - Recovered original costume with small but correctly aligned shoulders.
v0.63 - Minor audio fixes. Released patch big shoulder from hibashehadeh. Some parts are a bit misplaced.
v0.64 - Added 2 lines and emotions.
v0.65 - Tumbajamba has been rearranged to keep the new model pristine. Added unattached weapon armor as patches.
v0.69 - Corrected Cooper's height and eyes. Fixed glove clip issue. Changed Lever's ammo to .38
Recommended modules:
- Cooper Outfit Standalone has a second piece of armor and a legendary holotape.
- Classic Holster Weapon System (CHW) (
The rear lever gun mounts to the garment, but if you also want to holster the revolver, use the CHW)
If you are using a backgun system then use the MTS-255 CHW patch
Known issues:
- If you make him aggressive towards you while following (attack him multiple times), he will attack you and never die, since he is an essential NPC.
- Cooper has no dialogue option to exit Power Armor. Please don't let him wear power armor until this is resolved.
- If you tell him to "Stand" from the Talk menu, he will not obey the "Follow" command until you enter the Talk menu again and tell him "Let's go."

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
