About this mod Machine translation
Created a plugin with FO4Edit. The purpose of this mod is to combine the assets of the two largest weapon packs while ensuring they are compatible, feel balanced, and appear on both vendors and enemies. In addition to creating a more dynamic and realistic world of consequences, your loadout is largely determined by what you can afford.
This is a work in progress model and more planned features will be implemented as life permits. If you find any bugs, please feel free to report them. Any feedback is appreciated, if you like this mod give it a like...or endorse what I think it is.
Future additions include; bringing each mod's best features into a plugin, for example, MF weapons that can temporarily "knock back" enemies when fired. (implemented in 1.1.0)
Update 1.2.0
Mod re-updated to the latest Weaponsmith Extended 2.4 v9 and Modern Firearms 2.5 1.4.
Improved level lists to include less powerful guns at the start of the game and more variety in enemies. Also updated Realistic Ballistics with new improvements and the latest New Calibers patch (download link below).
Update 1.1.0
The new update has ended. It took a while to complete this as I needed to modify every single weapon in WSE2, but I think you guys will like the results.
This update introduces the impact effects of modern firearms on every gun in the model and vanilla weapons. I also tested compatibility with my other mod 'Realistic Ballistics'. Works perfectly, although not required I highly recommend it as it completely changes the settlement experience and works well with this mod.
*Added shock knockdown effect to all weapons. Effects are based on weapon type and caliber. For example, a .50BMG might knock down an enemy with a shot to the chest, while a 9mm pistol or SMG might need a good shot of spray.
*Adjust weapon balance
*Compatible with realistic Ballistics New Calibers
Install
Just drop the esp into the Fallout 4 data folder or install via NMM.
Requires the mods listed below to run. No external mod assets included.
Upgrade 1.1.0 to 1.2.0.
Because of all the new weapons, I highly recommend uninstalling WSE2 and Modern Firearms and making a new save. Next install WSE2, test it running in the game, then install Modern Firearms 2.5 1.4 and this patch. (Please note that you will lose all weapons by doing this, but this is the best way to upgrade to the latest versions of WSE2 and MF.)
The loading sequence should look like this:
Modern Firearms.esp
Weaponsmith extension 2.esp
NewCalibers_ModernFirearms.esp
WE2MFCombine.esp
Fate.esp's weapons (optional)
WOF_NCPatch.esp (optional)
RAO - MF Patch.esp (optional)
The following mods need to be installed
Weaponsmith Extended 2 (latest 2.4v9) and all corresponding mods related to its installation
Modern Firearms (2.5 1.4)
New Calibrators for Modern Guns and Modern Sidearms
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
