The Wattz Laser Rifle has higher damage, a slower rate of fire than the AER-9 Laser Rifle, and can be converted to an automatic or semi-automatic weapon on any workbench without changing barrels or receivers. If you feel like it doesn't have enough damage for sniper shooting, you can find a unique gun that adds ballistic damage to the rifle, making it one of the most powerful semi-automatic weapons, right up there with the Gauss Rifle. This option can make this rifle the most powerful energy weapon in the game. The rifle will appear in the inventories of vendors and high-tech factions such as the Academy, BoS, and Gunners after level 15-20.

If you can't get it from a vendor or enemy for some reason, or you want to get it faster, there are only a handful of unique versions placed in the world, and you can also find non-unique Wattz 3000 rifles in the Wattz eShop. There are very few non-unique liveries for your personal preference, but if you want something a little special, get ready for a world treasure hunt. Background introduction

The Wattz 3000 laser rifle is Wattz Electronics' attempt to re-enter the military market after its previous rifle, the Wattz 2000, was replaced by the more modular and rugged AER series of laser weapons. Even with its slow rate of fire, the rifle's power resulted in it beating out other competitors in military trials and being distributed to troops in limited numbers in the form of the AER12.

Serial production of the civilian model, originally produced only for the Special Forces in 2075, was completed and they were ready to be shipped to the civilian market on October 23, 2077, but the nuclear bomb was dropped before shipment.

When the institute found the blueprints for the Wattz 3000, they changed their plans to use the resources they had. The Wattz 3000 was more tolerant of focusing crystal changes than the AER-9, but it was too expensive to manufacture, so the institute returned to the use of the ILR-03.
