Additionally, this mod has nothing to do with the Fallout New Vegas mod of the same name. This mod was made by Mlucci4036. The story has no intentional overlap with his mod and can be considered mutually exclusive.
What is this mod?
This mod takes you beyond the Commonwealth and takes you to the wasteland of Empire; the once magnificent metropolis of New York City.
Explore the city!
Explore Manhattan Island.
While many neighborhoods and individual buildings have changed dramatically from their real-world counterparts, many famous monuments can still be seen! Or at least, what's left of them.
Come visit landmarks (or equivalents) such as the Empire State Building, Flatiron Building and more.
Be in awe of the many monuments such as those found in Central Park, as well as many of our other historic parks.
Find new, bifurcated landmark locations like the Manhattan Nuclear Power Plant, Project Diversion Planning Headquarters, or the Heniton Cable Tower
Meet the locals!
From established communities, to traveling traders, to a society of marauders, and everything in between; the Imperial Wasteland features a vibrant and diverse society that rivals the pre-war era.
Get to know the people of Manhattan, whether it's an oasis of civilization or a pillager town. Expect a new type of attacker in Manhattan; one who won't shoot you on sight, but still gets your last hat. (There are also people who just shoot when they see you, but that's not the point)
Interactions with one town will not only affect them, but also surrounding towns, so be careful who you help or you could upset the balance of power.
File a claim!
Enjoy a slice of New York life with 3 unique settlements open for you to build. Your first settlement is found early in the quest line, and the other two settlements can be found as you explore.
Player settlements can be found at Central Park Zoo, Union Square, and Governors Island
What does this mod change?
In the spirit of my previous mod, it doesn't change much in Commonwealth, just two minor changes and one secret detail.
It will add a new radio station and you will be prompted to investigate.
It added a container barge with a flying bird on top near the Atomic Cat junkyard.
This mod is done entirely in the new world space and won't have much of an impact on your Federation experience, unless you bring back some parts of Manhattan in the form of new companions, perks, weapons, aid, and more.
There shouldn't be radial missions that send you to the wasteland of Manhattan. If you do find yourself sent to Manhattan outside of missions in the mod, please let me know.
What does this mod add?
The new world space is filled with new enemy types, new settler factions, new towns and settlements, new enemy factions, new weapons, new aid items, new miscellaneous items, and new perks.
Of course, there's a whole new quest line with branching paths and as many RPG elements as I can cram into it. (I'm not currently using the expanded dialogue system, so I'm limited in this regard) Beyond the main quest there will be a plethora of side quests, random events, flavor text, visual storytelling, and lore waiting for you to discover!
To avoid too many spoilers, specific details will be provided separately and I will link to them here as they are compiled. Things like quests, factions, weapons and more, so keep an …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
