Wasteland Animals: Radiated Raccoons
As seen in Mutant Zoo: Life Finds a Way
"The Radiated Raccoon is one of the most notorious mutants in the Wasteland. Radiation causes massive fur loss all over the body, giving them the iconic "skinned alive" appearance. These little troublemakers are an ungainly combination of small stature, a huge appetite for just about anything, and a bad attitude. The result is one of the most unique creatures in the Wasteland. A shin-high varmint that will try to run down its death claws like a cockroach.
A bunch of mischievous little gangsters are unlikely to pose any real threat to a capable wastelander, but you really have to respect them for having the guts to try. However, once that fleeting feeling wears off, just give one of the guys a good whack with something heavy - and then watch the backpacks scatter into the bush to reconsider their plans. That's the way raccoons are - a personality too strong for its tiny, shriveled body.

What mod is this?
Wasteland Creatures - Fallout Raccoon is more like a mini-mod, a simple, standalone add-on that introduces a new creature into Fallout 4 as efficiently as possible. The Wasteland Monster Manual is designed as a series of mods that let you introduce new, lore-friendly creatures in simple, bite-sized chunks—with little to no impact on your gameplay or load order. There is no world space editing or addition, a single script injector task, and no additional systems. You'll get a creature, some new loot, a taxidermy recipe and a creature cage, as well as a cooking recipe or two. All of this is blended with the original Fallout 4. If you're interested in all the creatures found in Mutant Zoo, but don't want all the critters or all the extra bells and whistles, then The Wasteland Animal Encyclopedia is for you!
What can I find in this mod?
Raccoons are cute and gorgeous little thugs that lay eggs alongside the wild. They have a really bad attitude if provoked, but can be downright cowardly if resisted. You can loot their skin and flesh, and even bake a delicious (if slightly off-putting) radioactive raccoon bread! You can also decorate your settlement with mounted Radon Bears, or set up cages to create an army of Radon Bears!
That's all. ESL-tagged ESP, BA2 is archived and well optimized. Safely handle virtually any load order. Like I said, easy!
What's next?
These mods are for fans of my (original author StamperDoesMods) creatures who don't want everything Mutant Zoo has to offer. I plan to feature many of the most popular critters in a mod like this so you can put together your own collection of creatures for your games. So, let me know which creatures you’d like to see! If enough people request a specific mutant zoo critter, the creature may be moved to the docket. Mutant Zoo is a mod I made for myself and the crowd that shares my preferences. These little mods are for the rest of you!
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
