About this mod Machine translation
Some mods have been uploaded to change DC Safety's helmet. However, underneath those helmets, there are only two faces on the DC lvlcharacter list! This mod adds over a dozen faces to the guards, so you never see the same two guys patrolling the city.
This will be the first in a series of mods extending universal mob and soldier faces, so stay tuned. I'm making one for the Raiders and Gunners, then moving on to Minutes, Rail Agents, Contestants, etc.
Since this mod only edits the lvlchar list, it is compatible with all mods that edit armor lists or change the stats of DC guards. This is purely cosmetic. You'll still need a mod that turns on the helmet, I recommend darthbdaman's random Diamond City Guard costume.
This mod won't really work if you install it in Diamond City. Wait a few days or start a new game to see the face and the guard should respawn.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
