This scene uses the legendary Ruthless assault rifle. Notice how the AP is depleted with each shot, but replenished when I use a key. Also, this character has 175 AP, so the cost of shooting may seem small, but it's actually a little more than you think.

VaultTec Accelerated Focus System

V.A.F.S. is the VaultTec Accelerated Focusing System.

This is another way to spend your AP in combat, and is more engaging and fun than watching V.A.T.S. Cutscene.

Simply use the [VAFS] Focus Toggler (found in the AID inventory) to accelerate your senses to superhuman levels, slowing down your perception of time and allowing you to react faster and more accurately than your enemies. This costs AP to maintain over time, but each attack also costs AP, so keep your shot count up!

The amount the world slows down around you varies with your sensitivity. Many of the bonuses that apply to V.A.T.S. now also apply to V.A.F.S. so you don't have to feel like you're wasting any points or stats.

Not only can you slow down time using V.A.F.S., but you can also use keywords. If you like the use of tactical critical strikes, you'll like this. You can now use keys at any time using the [VAFS] Use Crit project. Shoot immediately after use to hit your enemies for serious damage! Whether it's in V.A.T.S., V.A.F.S. Inside or both, Crits will form in the background with each hit. Release them when you need a boost in combat.

Mysterious Stranger: The mysterious stranger will occasionally appear at the beginning of V.A.F.S. When the player is in combat. He will be involved in the objectives during the V.A.F.S. Then disappear.

Four-Leaf Clover: Any chance of hitting during V.A.F.S. Gives you extra crit charge.

Blitz: Now has significantly increased movement speed during V.A.F.S.

Kuaishou Ranking 2: It’s much faster to rejoin V.A.F.S. Even faster than normal reloading.

Awareness: Humans and mobs will be highlighted in red/green/blue if they are hostile/friendly/dead respectively. This can be turned on/off in options holotape.

Sniper Level 3: When aiming with ranged weapons (including rifles, pistols, and even automatics), V.A.F.S. will be 40% slower.

Penetrator Level 1: During V.A.F.S, enemies will emit a red flash that can be seen through walls at short range. Can be switched in the option holotape.

Penetrator Level 2: Weapons fired with .50 Cal or 2mmEC rounds will penetrate objects and hit targets hidden behind them. Always working on it, not just during the V.A.F.S.

Killshot (MacReady's companion perk): While using any weapon, V.A.F.S. will be 20% slower.

Isodoped (Hancocks Companion Perk): Increases critical charge rate by 20% when illuminated.

GunFu: Very similar to vanilla, except it counts targets in a V.A.F.S. session.

Focused Fire: Live Work and V.A.F.S.

Awareness Level 2: During V.A.F.S, you can take advantage of a simple increased speed.

Ricochet Level 3: To do, not sure about execution.

It allows you to shoot objects like steel beams.

Legendary effects:

Lucky: V.A.F.S. Key deals more damage and charges faster.

Relentless: AP will be refilled when you use V.A.F.S. critical.

VATS Enhanced Edition: (Weapons Edition) is now called VATS/VAFS Enhanced Edition. V.A.F.S. If V.A.F.S is activated, it will be slowed down by 20%. Wave it. It also costs half the AP during V.A.F.S.
