Unofficial Horizon Patches - Various Creation Club Items Unofficial patches
Here are some patches I made for CC content in Horizon. I try to keep the balance as close to the horizon as possible, but I have every reason to suggest better values.
This is my first time tinkering with anything, so there may be some issues I'm overlooking. Also, if anyone could suggest a better trigger for these quests, that would be great, since currently you still get them leaving the vault.
List of changes below.
Horizon Patch CC Solar Cannon:
- Added keywords for inventory sorting
- Added rare firearm loot table to Gunslinger (still need to test this more)
- Changed all crafting recipes to use Horizon's skill system
- Changed the crafting recipe to be consistent with other energy weapons
- Added weapons for ZX-1 Laboratory
- Less weight than plasma gun
Horizon Patch CC Fantasy Hero is slightly heavier:
- Added keywords for inventory sorting
- Added to all new melee weapon models for Horizon
- Added to Brotherhood of Steel Melee secondary loot table (still need to test more, maybe add it to a different loot table if anyone has suggestions)
- Changed all crafting recipes to use Horizon's skill system
- Keep the original weapon models of the different blade types, but severely reduce their damage since Horizon's melee mode already covers these areas
- Added a cutting weapon mod
- Added weapons for ZX-1 Laboratory
- Removed vanilla legendary effects found on each sword
-Added Horizon's armor model to the helmet and removed it
I made this vanilla because I tied all the dogs together, but when all I want is to transform, you end up with 20 quests to receive dog meat.
Each dog-related CC is required to function (individual dogs can be easily removed in Xedit if you don't own them).
Horizon Patch CC Dog:
- Added keywords for inventory sorting
- The crafted collar can be crafted at the Science and Technology Station
- Removed limitation of Dogmeat wearing MK2 stuff (causes issues with smaller dog models, but works fine with larger dog models)
- Delete all adoption tasks
- Makes all CC dogs hostile and non-essential
Here are a few patches I made for CC content in Horizon. I tried to keep as close to Horizon's balance as best I could but I am absolutely up for anyone to suggest better values.
This is my first attempt at patching anything so there may be some issues I have overlooked. Also if anyone could suggest a better trigger for these quests that would be great as currently you still get them as soon as leaving the vault.

Horizon Patch CC Solar Cannon:
- Added keywords for inventory sorting
- Added to the gunners rare firearm loot table (still need to test this more)
- Changed all crafting recipes to use Horizon's skill system
- Changed crafting recipes to be in line with the other energy weapons
- Added weapon to the ZX-1 experimentation lab
- Reduced the weight to be slightly heavier than a plasma gun
Horizon Patch CC Fantasy Hero:
- Added keywords for inventory sorting
- Added in all of Horizon's new melee weapon mods
- Added to the Brotherhood of Steel melee secondary loot table (still need to test this more, maybe add it to a different loot table if anyone has suggestions)
- Changed all crafting recipes to use Horizon's skill system
- Kept the original weapon mods for the different blade types but severely reduced their damage as horizon's melee mods already cover these areas
- Added back a cut weapon mod
- Added weapon to the ZX-1 experimentation lab
- Removed the vanilla legendary effect found on every sword
- Added Horizon's armour mods to the helmet and removed the vanilla ones
I made this one because I got all the dog stuff in a bundle but you end up with 20 quests to adopt dogs right from the get go when all I wanted was to transform Dogmeat.
Requires every dog related CC to function (individual dogs can be removed very easily in Xedit if you don't own them).

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
