About this mod Machine translation

Sambuca42 created the latest and most complete version of this mod designed to fix the disgusting melee combat system of the original. This includes new features explained below.

The main files of the standard version and the alternative (ALTERNATIVE) version have been packaged and uploaded together. You can choose one of the two to install according to your needs.

welcome

Description il long, but if you're too lazy to read, here's a demo video of The Ultimate Melee Combat Fix

In other cases, here are the instructions.

First, you will no longer need to adjust these Fallout4Custom.ini values like in my old mod (Sambuca42), there is now an ini file merged with my mod (thanks to another mod author who showed me how).

Just drag everything into the data folder.

illustrate

1.Hold the damn block button and block everything (put your finger on it).

Obviously, you'll perform the same blocking animation, but if you hold down the button, your character will be able to detect all incoming attacks (remember to point at your target).

He/she will automatically raise and lower the guard.

Your character will do it himself.

You don't have to do anything, just hold down that fucking block button.

That timing nightmare is over.

1st person and 3rd person available.

2. Hold down that fucking block button to attack (keep your finger on it at all times).

You'll see your character perform attacks faster than in the original, with better chaining.

If you attack during an enemy attack, you stop your attack in time, converting it into a parry.

Fully automatic...just hold down that damn block button.

3. Do whatever you want

Ground Attack Direction The original version would sometimes make you attack forward for no reason, without letting you choose the direction of the attack.

It's designed to adapt the AI's fighting style to your movements...

I found a way to let you choose where to attack without touching the original.

4. Hold down the attack button without holding down the block button (don't forget to keep your finger on the attack button...without touching the block button)

Your attacks will be faster than those thrown by holding Block BUTTON.

This is an offensive method of fighting, so I'd argue that more aggressive strikes are appropriate, since if you don't hold down block, you'll be defenseless.

The direction of attack can be changed freely and quickly.

I've added a new thing: when you hold down the attack button and an enemy is about to attack you, you can do a very fast attack to detect it, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Slightly safer

If you suddenly press the attack button (instead of holding it) at the same moment an enemy is about to hit, your character will parry instead of attacking.

If this happens, it's usually because you're using the block button and the attack button at the wrong moment.

It might save your life.

6. Avoid

A new thing...you can hide wherever you want.

To dodge, press the Attack and Block buttons simultaneously.

There are three dodges (left, right, and back)

The direction of the dodge depends on the direction you were moving before pressing both buttons.

For example, walking left and pressing them will allow you to dodge to the left.

Dodge is almost useless against melee attacks, but very useful against rockets in case you get too hindered and you can't run.

7. Each attack consumes action points.

This does mean that even regular attacks will drain your stamina...

Regular attacks use 1/4 more power than the original Power Attacks.

Power attacks use fewer action points than usual.

When you're wearing power armor, your attacks cost half the stamina, but your attack speed is the same as in vanilla (holding block will provide protection anyway).

Heavier weapons use more stamina, so swinging those super hammers like a berserker will leave you breathless.

When your stamina is 0, you cannot attack until you have enough action points to attack.

Fighting is tirin …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
