Installation instructions:
IMPORTANT: If you plan to revert to Bethesda's version, please backup the MainMenuLoop.bk2 file from Fallout4/data/video.
Just install via NMM, or manually: inside the .zip file you choose to download, you will find two folders, Videos and Music (there is a subfolder called special inside the music folder)
Copy the .bk2 file to Steam/Steamapps/common/Fallout4/Data/Video - Overwrite, click Yes.
Copy the .xwm file to Steam/Steamapps/Common/Fallout4/Data/Music/Special * - overwrites the file, yes.
*If the special folder does not exist, create a new folder and rename it to "Special".
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
