Background settings:

The QCW (Qīng wǔqì Chōngfēng Wēishēng) Type 77 is deceptively simple but extremely intimidating. It is a hybrid of the QCW-05 and QBZ-95. It retains the tradition of the bullpup while correcting the flaws of the previous generation and echoing the performance of its rifle type. The weapon uses 5mm ammunition optimized for armor-piercing performance and is officially designated QFR (Qīng wǔqì Fángwèi Rèngōng) as a personal defense weapon, hastily deployed as a stopgap measure against the growing threat of power armor.

As a direct countermeasure against U.S. mechanized power armor divisions, the "Ci Xinghuo" prototype marks the Chinese Army's formal inclusion of Gauss technology into its standard rifle project. Based on the proven Type 77 platform, the CXN directs magnetic acceleration to 5mm ammunition, greatly improving its armor-piercing capabilities and establishing its status as the cornerstone of China's next-generation infantry combat doctrine.
