intention:
I really hated how the game looked at launch because the game looked like a potato and ENB didn't fix it for me. The game's lighting is terrible, no shadow collisions, random ambient light, no random reflections from light sources, light passing through walls.
What this mod does:
I wonder if lighting has a checkbox for shadow casting, low, and seeing as the console farmer's ankle chain remains in glorious master mode, while almost all lights used in Fallout 4 default to no shadows. I want the entire Metro: Last Light to have only dynamic lighting effects.
I've turned on most things that cast shadows, and I've had to turn off a lot of them because they were just buggies and not useful at all, or required too many resources to be practical. I also expanded the range of most lights since the vanilla was only worth a few feet.
Here is the list of my changes:
- Pipboy and headlight
- Most workshop lights
- All weapons muzzle flash
- Laser weapons, ballistic weapons, and missiles now all project dynamic lights
- Overhauled torch gun lighting
- A ton of outdoor and indoor lighting
- The range of most light sources has been increased for more realism
Install:
- Just get the .esp in the data folder, how-to, NMM or manual copy paste
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
