Added a way for you to start the mission after killing the alien before installing this mod (to stand near or on top of the crashed UFO). You can't get alien blood though.

Fixed typo of R4 option in engine prompt for reverse engineering.

Fixed alien activation compatibility issue with Cannibal level 2 and above. I had to hard edit the screen talent though because I was using the Silver Veil keyword to block Ogres.

Version 1.2

Fixed a typo on the message that appears when vats of Alien Blood are unavailable.

Updated on July 8th:

Version 1.1

Fixed some mission logic issues, as well as various issues with missions completing prematurely or not completing at all.

Introduced helper code that, when the game loads, will check if all mission objectives have been completed and grant issue completion. for the current archive.

Fixed an issue with crafting alien vats. Corpses are no longer a crafting requirement, but if the object is not in your inventory it will not be craftable. Crafted once, it will close the stronghold workshop menu and hopefully it won't show up again

Introduction

This is a short quest mod that gives you RPG style options for crafting ammo for your Alien Blaster. Pairs well with mods that edit alien blasters or add alien weapons that rely on vanilla ammo (which was very limited in vanilla).

Mods are ESL so don't take up load order slots. Also, it's all new records, so nothing should really conflict.

This mission is only triggered by killing aliens from the original UFO Crash mission. If you have already killed them, the quest will not trigger.

You have three options with multiple options to access said options (is that enough for you?) to get sweet ammo (don't click on spoilers if you want full immersion).

Specific content

Investigate alien corpses

First, you can investigate the corpse to unlock its potential. You need Cannibal, Science and Doctor, Chemist (with Chemist) or Idiot Savant. Once you discover the purpose of the corpse, you can bring it back to your settlement. Depending on what you do (freeze, burn, or just carry the corpse), you can get better quality corpses and more efficient Alien BioCell Rounds crafting recipes. Alien BioCell Rounds inflict poison damage and do not reduce the Blaster's capacity.

Examine the UFO cockpit

Unlock cockpit perk options: Demolitionist + Explosives, Power Armor, Locksmith Level 4, Idiot Expert, Basher R2. The message is different for each flavor. Unlock the cockpit to get an additional 150 Alien Blaster rounds

Check UFO Engine

Using Armorer, Gun Nut, and Science, you can unlock recipes for alien blasters. However, this recipe is inefficient at low level perks. At higher levels, you unlock more efficient recipes. You can always return to the engine later to do more research and improve your recipe.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
