Have you ever noticed that the farther away you are from the camera, the more freckled the landscape becomes? This solved the problem!
The game overlays low-quality noise textures on top of the terrain, trying to blend in with nature as the terrain fades away. To fix this, I made a new pair of terrain noise and detail normal textures to make the transition look nicer and free of any patchy brown freckles. I also baked very subtle grass into the texture to help disguise the gradient lines of the grass.
