background:
Known collectively as "rapid rifles," they are a type of rifle designed specifically for big-game hunting. While the development of modern firearms has advanced over the years, simpler single-shot lever-operated roller-blocking rifles remain a reliable choice compared to other repeating-fire firearms.
Features:
A powerful single shot rifle chambered for .45-70 Gov't. (.500 Magnum in WOS)
Injected into the tier list - Mainly seen on militiamen armed with .45 automatic rifles as a replacement for laser rifles.
Optional "high skill" tweak that increases rifle damage at the cost of firing non-hitscan projectiles.
Legendary weapons:
Taylor's Knock-Out - Allen Lee's optimized rapid-fire rifle for sale in Far Harbor Town.
Fowler's Extinction - Deb's fast shotgun for sale in Bunker Hill.
Call of the Void - A mysterious rapid-fire rifle sold by Aaron Corbett in Nuka-World.
Known issues:
The animation is a bit laggy. Third person reloading is a bit boring, Power Armor can still reload multiple ammo.
Author's Notes:
Inspired by the Ruger Roller Lock Rifle, the Martini-Henry Rifle, and the lever-action shotgun animation itself, they wanted to see if it would be possible to just use a single-shot animation.
I actually contacted Dak about the idea, but it turns out he already made a roller lock rifle. I couldn't just let go of the idea, so I made the grid myself.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
