Subtle ENB is optimized for gameplay and performance (not just for pretty screenshots). All effects are carefully configured to run smoothly in real-time and extensively tested to correct any distortion or distortion that would distract from immersive gameplay. All effects are also optimized for performance, as this is an integral part of the immersive gaming experience. So you really need to try the presets yourself to experience all of their benefits.

I also chose to complement and enhance the vanilla tone without changing it, believing many people greatly underestimate the quality of Beth's work. After extensive gaming testing, I found Vanilla's color palette to be very balanced and consistent, and this preset aims to prove it.

Subtle ENB is carefully optimized to accomplish the following tasks:

SweetFX module for ENB: all FX without the performance penalty of the Reshade framework (Credit for the Woodbyte for SweetFX Wrapper)

Removes the faded/white filmy look of vanilla FO4 without changing color balance

A darker shade that won't darken the shadows (darken the night)

Richer midtones without oversaturation (like in bright daylight)

Smooth dynamic DOF without any focus popping or blurry text/HUD ***Focus bug fixed

Subtle Luma Sharpening won't distort thin branches and grass

The subtle bloom effect peaks at high noon to simulate bright sunlight and add lighting dynamics. Also suitable for very bright lights.

Configurable border effects for letterboxes, mailboxes or window boxes

Almost no loss in FPS (around 0-5fps loss)

Installation instructions

Download Fallout4 ENBSeries v0.291

Inside the ENB archive is a folder called "Wrapper Version". From that folder, copy "d3d11.dll" and "d3dcompiler_46e.dll" into the base Fallout 4 folder where Fallout4.exe is located (for example, "steamapps\common\Fallout 4\")

Download the latest version of Subtle ENB Preset (manual download only)

Copy all contents of the Subtle ENB archive (files and folders) to the base Fallout 4 folder, overwriting all files if necessary. This process should add a folder called "enbseries" within the Fallout 4 folder, for example: "steamapps\common\Fallout 4\enbseries".

(Optional) Configure "enblocal.ini" to your computer's available memory

The ENB series includes a feature that forces Fallout 4 to use all physical memory (system memory and video memory) available on the computer, commonly known as "ENBoost". After installing Subtle ENB, follow these steps to configure Subtle ENB's "ENBoost" to your computer's configuration:

• Download the VRAM size test tool from the ENBSeries website
• Unzip the archive and run VRamSizeDX11.exe
• ***Due to the limitations of this tool, please first make sure that the number it reports is lower than the physical ram + vram (if you have 8GB of system memory and 4GB of video memory, it should report a total of less than 12GB). If it reports more, ignore the tool's results and calculate it manually by taking the total available physical memory and subtracting 3-4GB for the base process
