What is this mod?
Aside from the fact that this is my (original author Bartoneye, same below) first upload, this mod is simple in that it adds a set of custom armor that may remind you, the reader, of a character from a certain space drama. In addition to two unique variations of armor, backstory holotapes can be found near each mission location. If you're getting the tasks out of order - don't worry. The holotape should point you in the right direction to other locations.
The quest content isn't particularly deep, but it gives players a reason to travel across the Commonwealth to collect this unique set of items.
Why did you choose this particular set of armor?
I've always loved sci-fi and fusion themes. I tried to make this "crossover" as respectful of Fallout's backstory as possible. The accompanying holotape attempts to obscure *why* this armor is there. I also incorporated themes and parts from the base Fallout 4 game to try to make it blend in with the environment.
More details:
I tried to choose mission locations to encourage you to stumble upon the set naturally, whether you're just starting out, collecting magazines, or looking for screen memorabilia. This mod has been a learning experience and a labor of love. I rebuilt the armor and helmet mesh from scratch for this latest revamp and carefully tried to make the weights as tight as possible, but there may still be some issues. Women's body shapes, in particular, may have some obvious issues. Please don't be shy, report it!
Other features of this armor include the inclusion of a unique set of equipment in the mod, which currently has no "natural" way to obtain it, but can be found on the console. I won't be doing any body modifications for this set because I don't use them anymore. I would keep the old WIP preset, but I don't recommend using it because it's very crude and not even compatible with new .nifs.
What’s next?
If you saw this mod from 2024 when I first uploaded it, first of all I want to say thank you so much for your support and downloads. This interest led me to reboot the mod again in 2026, adding features that I felt were missing or unfinished in the last update.
I still want to expand on this more over time, but will be taking another (hopefully shorter) break to work on other projects.
Acknowledgments:
Diakyuto: Giving advice along the way and encouraging me to try making weapons. Dia also helped create the custom AR15 laser rifle that comes with the mod.
Haru404: Haru’s animations played a huge role in making the custom laser rifle work properly.
Hitman47101: Hitman's work and modder's resources were used to create a custom laser rifle.
WastelandMelody: Although currently inactive, WastelandMelody’s mod has always been a fixture on my mod list. The standard rifle is the inspiration for the AR15 laser rifle and accounts for approximately 50% of the model, complemented by the original model. All of these elements have been redesigned and mapped to make the AR15 laser rifle a reality.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
