About this mod Machine translation

about:

Some models are solved. Some start settling, they give the settlement 2 beds, they give the settlement 2 beds. I'd like to try another approach, using an empty bed frame that I can then place the mattress on.

Under Furniture, I added a new category SnapBeds. Inside you will find the frame and mattress. Build a frame and then on the mattress cards you can mix and match and you can have the settlers assign themselves or make them yourself. Aiming for some mattresses, the frame will also align end-to-end and side-to-side so you can easily line up the rows.

There are currently three child-supporting mattresses. Children will not enlarge if assigned to these mattresses. Check the instructions in workshop mode.

There may be odd clips and settlers may crawl through the frame into the bed, but they will use them. Try different combinations. :)

You don’t have to install a clean bed or a comfortable bed. If you don't want to use these texture changes, you can craft chemicals in the Chemistry Station under Utility, turn them off and hide them in the Workshop menu.

compatibility:

Should be compatible with everything.

uninstall:

Before uninstalling SnapBeds, craft the "SnapBeds Menu Toggle" and use it. This removes SnapBeds from the workshop menu. You can use it again to put it back.

About the "Asylum" Bunk Bed:

Depending on how you build a bunk bed frame, the top bunk may not be "sheltered" and it seems like considering how high the roof of the mattress is, if the mattress is too close it won't be sheltered above. Try to make sure you have a tall roof over your bunk bed, or on a lower level of your structure.

Or, try the Shelter Bed, a small mockup I created to make the workshop believe all beds are shaded.

Assign your child to a bed:

I provide this information "as is" and will take responsibility if it does something weird to your game. Won’t the workshop model disappoint you?

Open the console and select the child.

Input: cf setCommandable 1

Close the console.

Turn on workshop mode.

Put the children into beds.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
