Original address:
Prefix;
Nuka World DLC
Updated on August 26th:
Version 1.1.0
Added Nuka World as plugin dependency
Removed dialog box in Gage mentioning that Dogmeat is already an active companion
Apparently Longfellow from Far Harbor doesn't need a similar patch, as its dialogue is missing from the original
Version 1.0.1
Fixed an issue where auto-healing companions caused the target of the healing mission to get stuck.
Introduction
The original Everyone's Best Friend worked well on its own;
However, after years of successive UFO4P updates, the included scripts are severely out of date.
Additionally, many of the edits were unnecessary and caused a lot of compatibility issues.
So I decided to use the word "simple" more. ;)
Features
Allows Dogmeat as a companion along with any other followers without having to choose one or the other
Greatly improved compatibility with the original Everyone's Best Friend,
Because fewer scripts are covered and partial forms are used
Compile all scripts in release mode, potentially improving performance (yes, the original mod is using debug mode for some reason)
Includes a ton of bug fixes, thanks in large part to the unofficial Fallout 4 patch
Removed any edits to Hardcore Manager scripts and records, so automatically compatible with mods that edit these,
For example, the Survival Configuration menu
Provides localization for all game supported languages
Notes
Replacing the original Everyone's Best Friend with my mod mid-game should be no problem
Any mods that edit FollowersScript files may still be incompatible
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
