About this mod Machine translation

Remade from the ground up and inspired by steve40's classic mod.

Updated on June 22, 2026:

Version 1.01

The mosquito swarm animation was rebuilt from scratch, relying on the main particle system rather than being a standalone particle emitter.

The updated mosquito/fly is more performance friendly because the main particle system places a cap on the number of particles allowed to exist.

The animation itself is very different from before due to limitations of the main particle system (grid emitters cannot be used, and complex movement adjustments like spherical gravity and falloff gravity don't work properly). Still, it's like a bug wandering around the meat bag.

The gnats/flies are now slightly smaller and darker than before and no longer appear off-white in the sun

The standard version (supporting BA2 and component formats) has been uploaded together with the clean moderator file. You can choose one of the three to install according to your needs.

----

This mod is inspired by steve40's classic swinging animated meatbag. While I decided to try to faithfully recreate the feel of the original mod, I highly recommend checking out the original mod via steve40's profile or Bethesda.net.

Features

Added swing animation to hanging meat bags in many Super Mutant locations.

Added a squeaky sound to the meat bags that can be heard as they wiggle.

Added mosquito swarms and sound effects to all Super Mutant Meatbags (including those on the ground).

Mark the Meat Sack as a respawn container so you can find new stuff in it after the location resets.

No in-world editing is required, which means you don't have to worry about pre-combining or conflicting with location mods that add or use meat bags.

Marked as light plugin (esl tagged esp) to minimize impact on load order.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
