*Base Defense: Part of the goal of the barracks tree is for the roleplayer to try to control each faction in the Commonwealth, and the two ways I do this is to tie each faction barracks to its questline and have them grant a variable amount of defense. Defense value is affected by the number of barracks controlled by the faction, how controlled by allies, and how many by rivals:
Defense = baseDefense * ((NumFactionBarracks + NumAlliedFactionBarracks / 2 - NumRivalFactionBarracks / 2)^. 25)
Each faction barracks is a Settlement-Unique and it takes about 60 seconds to catch up with the script, so don't upgrade 2 barracks of the same faction in the same camp at the same time, as only one will provide defense.
Don't put the windmill on the side, but put the items above 3 layers, otherwise they will get pinched.
The Oil Power Plant requires that you have at least 1 Industrial Revolution Oil Pump in the area.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
