Full body first person compatibility patch
As shown in the picture, the shield frame is a good module at the beginning of the year (2023), but I had no idea of releasing anything at that time. It was not until today when I was about to release the shield expansion pack that no one had posted it, so I will make up for it.
Shield Frame
I (Bingle, the original author, the same below) have always wondered why none of the tactical shields actually work in this game, so decided to make one.
As you can tell from the name, it is a framework.
You can use it to make your own shields, in the form of weapons or even armor (WIP).
But you need the real stuff. It has to be accessible to attract people.
So I've provided a riot shield sample with a full set of custom animations covering first and third person (excluding power armor, super mutants).
This isn't a rogue "stop all damage from any angle" type of invulnerability tool.
The shield comes with a fully working collision object, divided into two parts: metal and glass.
Everything is customizable, including damage thresholds, image space adapters applied when hit, camera shake, material types (impact effects), and even the interaction between attacker and victim through offensive tactics.
It can be crafted at the Chemistry Workbench after being installed using MO2 or Vortex, or obtained by extracting it with the ESP Extractor.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
