Did no one really notice the lack of sparks and smoke?

Version 1.4.1

Fixed an issue where the livewire's glowing center became transparent when looking at the sky with it.

Version 1.4

Quest has been completely revamped.

Added 2 pickups, 5 each in arcjet and Mass FusionBuilding.

Added a mercy system where you can later earn a map marker 2 in-game.

Renamed "MF 1700001241" part to "Mass Fusion Prototype".

Fixed a bug where entering the Arcjet Building via the elevator would interrupt the mission.

Increased Arcjet part size.

The main file now has 1K textures by default, with 4k textures available as an optional file.

Make the front end cleaner by making the back end less cluttered. (Or in other words, I'm trying to remove some stuttering)

This mod is directly inspired by lolzinator42's mod Livewire - The Shishkebabs Better Half.

It's always been my (Shiagur42's) favorite melee weapon in New Vegas, so I wanted to have something similar in Fallout 4, so I made it myself.

This is my first mod and I learned a lot and still have a lot to learn, but I tried my best and hope you enjoy it, I'm glad I finished this and can now finally give back to the modding community after about ten years of modifying my Bethesda games.

Contains

One handed katana

Two-handed katana.

Three blade mods, two grip mods and two FX mods for electric blades.

Extra damage to droids, synths, turrets, and power armor with two electrical upgrades.

A new little location.

A new non-linear mission that puts you into every part of the mod.

Script to inject legendary level list.

Two decorative miscellaneous objects.

New electronic crit effect with custom sound effects.

Micro Fusion Unit/Fusion Core textures are compatible with retexturing.

Different texture resolutions. (4k, 2k, 1k)

Optional Cyberout77 patch. (Only applies to one-handed katana, not two-handed katana since the animation is made for one-handed weapons)

Optional cross-crit gore-verhaul patch.

Something silly and secret.

Debug room with very immersive teleportation

Where to find/how to start

Either find the note on a corpse in the Hubuli manga and follow the instructions, or head to the Electric Fans Club and go a little further north:

You'll also need to complete or start the quest where you initially meet Dans and the Electrical Systems Building, and progress far enough to delve into the lower floors of the Electrical Systems Building.

Known issues

Sometimes the lights on the weapons get misaligned, which can be easily fixed by casting Block.

Animations and effects will stop working when the weapon stabilizes, this also happens on vanilla weapons and may not be fixed.

Future plans

Installer (FOMOD)

I'd like to look into custom sounds, but I know nothing about audio design, so no commitments.

I wanted to make a small optional file that would shock you if you didn't add an insulated grip to the weapon as suggested in one of my preview pictures.

ESL version. Do

~~Uploaded to Bethesda.net. ~~It’s out!

~~Cyberout animation patch done! ~~It is located in the optional file.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
