About this mod Machine translation

Version 1.3 adds new, more wasteland-friendly textures for restored houses. It also addresses an issue where a home may not be registered as repairable.

The settlers at Sanctuary appear to have made little progress in repairing these houses. If you want the job done right, do it yourself!

This mod allows you to repair the Sanctuary's house using the workshop interface, restoring the roof and exterior walls and cleaning the interior. You can also build bridges. These repairs can be carried out on existing settlements without problems - collisions and navigation take the new structure into account.

I highly recommend using a debris removal model like Spring Cleaning as skeletons and junk piles tend to lower property values.

Technical details and known issues

Note that this mod's startup script removes the original house and generates a replacement. Uninstalling will delete them permanently. This is an unfortunate necessity in order to prevent the infamous Cell Reset Bug. Until Bethesda patches this issue, this is the only way mods like this can work.

Since the prewar interior did not exist in the neighbor's home, the model had to be cobbled together from multiple existing NIFs. There will still be some holes in the interior walls, but at least they're clean now! Other consequences include some loose or bent panels on exterior walls that are not removable. One house in particular has an odd inconsistency in the number of doors between the pre-war and post-war models.

Some settlers may continue hammering even after their houses are repaired. They're kind of stupid.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
