About this mod Machine translation
This mod will add a magazine called Prospector's Handbook! Once you find it and add it to your inventory, you can scrap plastic, steel, wood, rubber, and more from numerous different objects throughout the Commonwealth without having to rely on any workshops.
Tip: The book is located somewhere near Vault 111 (see picture).
Settings Holotapes ([Settings] Scavenger) allows you to enable or disable the object's scavenging functionality. Additionally, certain objects can also be set to be destroyed (completely removed from the game) or retained (the object remains in the game). Armor and weapons are always destroyed (removed). Note that these settings are a bit extensive, so read through and choose carefully how you want each object or category to be configured. I also want to point out that certain items, if destroyed (removed), may cause issues with quests or perks or even other mods. Therefore, if you have any questions or concerns about whether to destroy (remove) an object, you should probably choose to retain the object just to be safe. Once you destroy (remove) an object, it is gone.
Hotkey Activator (Scavenger On/Off) - enables/disables mods quickly and easily. It's located in Inventory/Supplements. Note: After initial activation of the mod, the activator will most likely be set to off, so check (use Holotape and see the status on the screen) and turn it on if necessary to activate mod functionality.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
