About this mod Machine translation
introduce
Designed by Sturm Ruger in 1978, the Ruger AC-556 is a combat-ready, military and police variant of their popular Mini-14 rifle. The AC-556 was equipped with select-fire capability and was primarily used in law enforcement roles in the 1980s and 1990s as a replacement for the M16. Its design, as well as that of the Mini-14, was based on the 7.62 caliber M14 (hence the name), which in turn was based on the M1 Garand. The AC-556F and AC-556K models are manufactured with a folding stock, pistol grip and short barrel, making them small, lightweight and easy to operate in high-intensity combat environments. The AC-556 gained a reputation as an effective, reliable rifle in service with police forces. Its reputation holds true even in the toughest of battles in the post-apocalyptic wasteland.
This is my first mod, so there may be some bugs. I will be happy to address any issues related to the mod, accept suggestions, criticism or anything else. This has been a personal project of mine for a while, getting familiar with the process of modeling, texturing and animation. Feedback would be greatly appreciated. Everything here is made by me and is completely independent. No DLC or other files required.
Place
There are a total of three Ruger AC-556 rifles in the Commonwealth. Since they are almost 300 years old and never started to gain popularity, it is not very friendly to integrate them into level lists. Here's where they can be found:
Liberty Museum, leaning on plaque in front of war mural
Valentine Detective Agency, placed next to bricks stacked on desk
Dartmouth Professional Building, on the table
Or, if you're lazy, just type "player.additem xx000F9E 1" into the console. (xx is the position of my mod in your load order.)
Install
To install the mod, simply unzip the folder labeled "Data" into your Fallout 4 home directory and allow all folders to be merged. Then, activate the .esp in the load order. Alternatively, you can use the Mod Manager.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
