describe

==========

Do you like big guns? Think the Desert Eagle is for leetle babbies? Are the Smith and Wesson Model 500 used to overcompensate teenagers? Then put that Shatner down and grab your own RSh-12, a giant revolver that makes you a god among men the moment you draw it, cures cancer within a 50-mile range and makes everything explode like in a Michael Bay movie*

*Warning some or all of these may be outright lies.

The RSh-12 is a mysterious Russian revolver chambered in a 12.7x55mm round wheel commonly used in the ASh-12.7 assault rifle, making this pistol...well, meaty. It only has 5 rounds you can shoot, but this baby's 5 rounds can blast not only your target, but every target in the tri-state area. The mod is packed with custom meshes, textures, sounds and scripted level list integration! The RSh-12 also comes with a large selection of mods, including:

9 receivers

2 muzzle attachments: compensator and suppressor (?!)

3 grips

3 laser sights (red, blue and green)

5 tactical flashlights

6 scopes, 2 of which are see-through

4 reflection spots

Glowing sight in 9 colors

3 "mechanism" mods which change the RSh-12 between single action, double action and automatic

10 barrel module

9 new material options!

The RSh-12 serves as a suitable late game weapon, starting with a base damage of 56 and of course improving with the application of the right perks and damage upgrade receivers. The ammo it uses can be crafted in its own category, RSh-12 Ammo, in the Chemistry Laboratory, but it can also be found from level 16 loot. The gun itself will start appearing in loot or at level 30 vendors, but will also be set to level 25 in certain situations.

Regarding the mod, you can change the color of the front and rear illuminated sights independently, meaning you can have the front sight one color and the rear sight a different color, so you can mix and match to your heart's content.

The standard short and long ranges use crosshair textures from henkspamadres' perspective scope framework (not required for this model).

As of 1.3, the mod is now compatible with Wardaddy's .44 animation replacement. The main file requires it, but I've provided an optional one.

In addition to this, there is a unique special version of the RSh-12 hidden in Federation supply caches located in the Luminous Sea. If you're feeling brave, go find it. ;)

Also available on XB1!

If you want to catch it, just look at the Mirrors tab.

Install

==========

Download manually or using NMM. If going the previous route, extract the contents of the zip file to your Data folder, then activate the mod from the in-game mods menu or via a third-party mod organizer like Wrye Bash. If doing the latter, once the mod is downloaded, activate it from NMM or within the game, and go on your merry way.

uninstall

============

Cancel the mod from the in-game mods menu or the mod organizer of your choice. If you want to perform a clean scan, delete RSh-12.esp and the corresponding BA2 from the Data folder.

Known issues

============

The laser sight's beam and emitter spot appear with a black background in the inventory view. It's probably solvable, but I haven't figured it out yet.

The gun behaves a bit weirdly when set to auto, mainly you go on a shooting spree if you shoot while aiming at the target, and there's no proper third person animation. This is because the animation is incomplete for .44. While whatever Bethesda had planned for them clearly failed, it's still serviceable but still incomplete.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
