About this mod Machine translation

RobCo Patcher is a patcher based on F4SE and CommonLibF4, which allows mod authors and users to modify game data without using plugins. You can modify ammo, NPCs, races, weapons, etc.

Do I need this mod?

If you are using a mod, you only need this mod and it will tell you that you need this mod. The mod itself does nothing but comes with some sample .ini files with some examples and descriptions.

Examples of mods made using the RobCo patcher:

  • Natural resistance

Completely revamped Fallout 4's races, with the addition of Fire, Freeze, and Resistance.

  • Better Positional Damage - RobCo Patch This is a patch to the RobCo patch to apply all the changes for better positional damage to ammo, NPCs, races, and weapons.

It also automatically patches NPCs and weapons added by mods!

  • RobCo Patch - Ranked List Template This is a template for adding weapons to the game. This template is pre-configured and provides you with multiple options. Containers, NPCs, quest rewards, and vendors. Simply enter your addon name and the form ID of your weapon, and delete any other unnecessary entries.

Simple, easy, Robco!

Why use RobCo Patcher?

Patches fix your load order and fix runtime incompatibilities!

This mod was created for better positional damage, but can be applied to other mods as well.

Many people have issues with better locational damage because they use many mods to add new NPCs or change existing NPCs. This results in a poor user experience. RobCo Patcher fixes that!

For example, you are a modder and create a new ammo type for a weapon. With RobCo patcher you can easily create a profile to patch them! There are no ESP or ESL files. One configuration with all the weapon mods you want to change and complete! No incompatibilities and no patches! Simple and easy!

Configuration

RobCo Patcher comes with an ini, located next to the .dll file, where you can enable and disable patch options.

What does it look like?

For example, patch race human race

filterByRaces=Fallout4.esm|00013746: filterByKeywords=Fallout4.esm|0002CB72: changeAVIFS=Fallout4.esm|000002D4=100, Fallout4.esm|000002E3=100: spellsToAdd=Better position damage.esp|0101750F, better position damage.esp|0101B207

This modifies humans from vanilla. It uses filterByRaces to find matches and looks for similar races that have the keywords ActorTypeHuman and filterByKeywords. After finding the record, it sets AV 2D4 (health) to 100, 2E3 (damage resistance) to 100.

Using Spell Additions, we've added two spells from better positional damage to add perks to the game.

Weapons (ammunition changed from 10mm pistol to .308)

filterByWeapons=:Fallout4.esm|00004822:setNewAmmo=Fallout4.esm|0001F66B

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
