Revolutionary Muskets and Guns
After Selakii released "Musket", I (original author DMagnus, the same below) decided it was time to make good use of 500slr's musket resources. After a lot of time and effort, I finally completed it, just in time for Independence Day!
This ties in with Selakii's mod, which utilizes animations and other details to not only come with a musket, but also a blunderbuss for attacking redcoats (or at least marauders). Both muskets and muskets are single-shot front-loading weapons with very high damage output. The muskets have a base damage of 180 and the muskets have a base damage of 95 to make up for the longer reloading time. As always, there are quite a few customization options in the game, as follows:
:Musket:
7 stock options
9 materials (for muskets and blunderbuss) 3
Ammunition types (standard, grape and mini, same as Selakii's modification)
4 powder charge options, 3 barrel ring, lock and barrel material options
2 receiver options (flintlock and detonator)
20 luminous sight color options (first 10, last 10)
1 muzzle option (bayonet)
6 types of sights
: Fire Gun:
5 original options
9 stock materials (suitable for muskets and muskets)
4 gunpowder charge options
3 barrel rings, locks and
Material selection for barrel 2 (flintlock and percussion)
3 sights
Muskets and muskets are unique weapons, so there is no level list, but once you reach level 2 in Gun Solid, you can craft more weapons with the utility of the Chemistry Station. There are also two "freebies" of sorts at the Liberty Museum, which are unusable but repairable antiques that can be restored to use without any privilege requirements.
Install
Download, either manually or using a mod manager such as Vortex or MO2. If you install it manually, first unzip the files in the compressed package into the Data folder, then place it after the Selakii module in the loading sequence, and then activate the module in the in-game module menu or module manager.
uninstall
In the in-game mod menu or any mod manager you use
Uninstall this mod. If you want to completely clean the data folder, delete the esp and BA2 files when done.
compatibility
As a standalone firearm, this mod should not conflict with other mods and install in an ongoing save without issue. There isn't any level list in the script. No artificial intelligence is used in this mod. BA2's archives are saved with old generation headers, so they should work on any version of the game.
Known issues
The gun's reload animation looks a little weird, but there's nothing I can do about it. Beyond that, if you encounter any issues, be sure to report them in the Bugs tab.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
