About this mod Machine translation
This model allows you to recover a power armor frame from a corpse in the field, separating the frame from the body.
When you approach a dead NPC equipped with this mod's power armor, you'll see a new option for interacting with the body called RESTORE FRAME. Click SPACE) and start a short scene, which takes 30 minutes of gameplay by default. At the end of the scene, you'll see the power armor separate and stand next to the body.

NPCs will have the same body, the same face presets and the same inventory. A separate Power Armor frame will sit next to it and feature all the Power Armor parts.
With the default settings of the module Paladin Danse you can use when restoring Power Armor frames. This can be modified by setting holotape automatically added to your inventory under the Misc section. The holotape is called [Settings] Restore Power Armor Frames, and if you're using mods like DEF_UI or Valdacil's Item Sorting, you can find it under Settings Holotapes without the [Settings] prefix. In the holotape settings under Companion Reactions, you can also set Strong to dislike or hate the event if desired.
Depending on the Perk requirements, you can choose to set any level of Scrapper, Armorer, Locksmith, Science! Or nuclear physicist SPECIAL demands the ability to restore the Power Armor frame.
Under Restoration Event Customization, you can turn off the 30-minute game time requirement for events by setting the event to unnecessary game time. Or you could keep the time requirement but optionally turn off the intermission music and then turn off the "In 30 minutes..." text, if you happen to find that annoying.
If you don't want to carry it, you can also make a setup holotape in the Chemistry Station under Utility.
Just like the vanilla workbench and workshop, patching a corpse to restore the Power Armor frame requires you to leave your own Power Armor behind. Once you are in normal gear again, the UI options will appear.
You can also loot parts of the armor first and then restore the frame. You will see that the exact same parts that were left before will appear on the recovered frame. They will also be in the same condition as before, so if your enemy takes damage, the armor parts will be damaged even after restoring the entire power armor with its frame.
This mod works with the Cannibal perk. All you have to do is remove the frame first and then you can feast on the unarmored carcass, if that's your cup of tea...
This mod may conflict with other mods that allow you to have corpses wearing Power Armor. If you encounter similar incompatibilities, please let me know and I'll be happy to make a compatibility patch.
Avoid confined spaces if possible! Always grab everything first and then restore the frame when the body is in an awkward position or in a tight space. This is because clipping may occur after restoring the Power Armor frame, which may prevent you from reaching the body after restoring the frame.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
