Updated on September 25th:
Version 2.1.1
New: New RPTN:DefaultSetupFactionQuest script for author initialization of support factions. This doesn't fully implement factions, as this still requires scripting work to register quest stages and dialogue options. It just keeps the faction active in the save.
Change: Adjusted the wording of the retroactive reputation processing step to make it clearer for users.
FIXED: Resolved an issue with Strike Squad's overall cooldown being abnormally long.
Optimization: Minor optimizations to the script.
Updated on September 23:
Version 2.1.0
Newly added: After completing the mission "Run", Alan Glass will gain the "Penance" reputation.
Changed: Adjusted the way gift givers approach you, they no longer stand so awkwardly.
Optimization: Refactored the Forgiver task and the Gift Giver task to share more behaviors between them.
FIXED: Killing squad enemies now correctly grants 15% experience.
FIXED: Adjusted the position of Minuteman supply crates as the old position would be sandwiched between Roni Shaw's legs after she becomes a trader.
Fixed: Resolved an issue where the plugin reported an inability to resolve the PreVis reference index when checking for xEdit errors. This is harmless but annoying.
Fixed: Resolved an issue where killing the second Arena of Thunder champion gave you the infamy of Vault 81. This is because the Quake author copied Tina DeLuca for Champions 2 without removing her faction.
Updated on September 15, 2026:
Version 2.0.2
Fixed: Resolved another oversight that could prevent retroactive reputation processing from occurring.
Version 2.0.1
Fixed: Resolved an oversight where retroactive reputation processing could not be triggered from configuring holotapes.
Fixed: Resolved an issue where disabling reputation/reputation gain/loss notifications would cause other reputation notifications to be disabled as well.
Optimizations: Script optimizations are very minor.
Version 2.0.0
This update is a complete rewrite of the mod that took months of hard work and is incompatible with existing saves that have older versions of REPUTATION installed. If your response is to complain in the thread, I implore you not to do so. Complaining about this won't make the mod suddenly compatible with existing saves, it will just discourage the author and cause them to give up or burn out, especially after completing such a huge project.

Note: There are a lot of changes in this update, so this changelog may not be exhaustive to begin with. Additionally, Reputation is now available on Bethesda.net consoles!
-
Optimization: The entire module has been completely reconstructed, and all data and functions have been greatly improved. There is no need to rely on any F4SE plug-ins, making REPUTATION significantly faster and completely unrestricted by versions.
NEW: More supply boxes for Strike Teams, Gift Givers and corresponding factions.
New: Added a reputation menu system for console players or players not using PipboyTabs. You can craft a consumable item, view this menu at the Chemistry Station.
New: A retroactive reputation processing system that evaluates major mission events and decisions to approximate your reputation on save files that don't have reputation installed.
NEW: New dynamic voice check bonus module.
Changes: MCM has been completely reworked, adding more customization options.
Change: Re-evaluated and balanced reputation events across all missions. Reputation events are slightly less frequent, but more meaningful and rewarding.
Changes: The Hit Squad system has been completely revamped to make enem …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
