Flashlight Repair
- Allow NPCs to see you when you use a flashlight by increasing your light detection modifier and perks
- The flashlight now also emits a detection event, triggering nearby enemies to investigate, even if they are facing in the opposite direction
Why do you need to do this?
- The default Pip-Boy light is omnidirectional, thus illuminating the player and allowing NPCs to see you regardless of ambient light levels
- One-way flashlights like the Pip-Boy Flashlight will not illuminate the player, so if you are standing in the dark, NPCs will not be able to see you, even if you shine the light into their eyes
User friendly
- Extremely lightweight with no performance cost
- Install/uninstall at any time
- Support configuration options in MCM
This is an expanded version of the fix included in my (eclix's) mod Enjoy the Darkness, which now has periodic detection events
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
