About this mod Machine translation
Remote Explosives adds four new explosion types and a working remote detonator, allowing you to make your explosions more tactical.
Place them around enemy camps, or reverse-pocket them onto your enemies, high up to safety, then hit the detonators to watch the fireworks.
Projects include:
•C4 blast - you know the one!
•Plasma Charge - Electrical Damage
•IED - Scavver style
•Remote Nuke - Mini Nuke device (2.0)
•Detonator - detonates all placed explosives
- 12 new detonator skins, usable at the weapon workbench (2.0)
New intense explosion sounds (with appropriate distance layering) are also included for a more satisfying explosion effect.
Truly features new meshes and textures, as well as awesome new animations from Hitman47101!
It's all included in the video! Hodilton’s great video
Explosive equipment and mines are placed the same way. Detonators are equipped like pistols. Place explosives anywhere, safely, and trigger detonators. All explosives detonate within an 8,000 unit radius. KA-BOOM!
You can also reverse pick them up on NPCs and detonate them remotely. The vanilla grenade pickpocket system doesn't work with ranged explosions, so I had to completely build my own implementation, but it feels like it's part of vanilla. You still need level 2 of the pickpocket perk, and if you don't want the NPCs hit by the explosion to become hostile to you, you also need level 2 of stealth, and detonate on HIDDEN. If you reverse pickpocket an NPC that explodes an enemy, a detection event will be generated at the explosion point and nearby enemies will be alerted, similar to a trap. It's a huge, loud explosion!
If you have issues with reverse pickpocketing, please let us know! If you happen to get into trouble and want C-4 to behave like vanilla mine/shard (detonate immediately), you can enter set RemoteExplosive_UsePickpocket to 0 in the console.
FO4 HOTKEY USERS!! If you have a detonator in your inventory, you can assign a hotkey to detonate the explosive without equipping the detonator! See Sticky Posts in the POSTS tab for more information!
Vanilla Crushed Mines do 100 damage, Bottlecap Mines do 300. I'm using those as a guide, so the C-4 does 230, the Plasma Charge does 225 plasma damage, and the IED does 160. These will scale with the corresponding Demolition perks for mines and grenades.
Explosion radius increased from 500 to 750. The visual effect of the explosion is also much larger.
NPCs don't know how to use the explosion/detonator combination, so they can't use them. However, they are added to the loot and vendor tables. Detonators and IEDs will start selling at level 10, while C-4s and plasma charges will start selling at level 18. You can find them in chests, which sometimes also spawn grenade loot.
Level lists are updated via script injection, so there are no list conflicts. I've also included an optional standard level list plugin for those who prefer to tinker with their level lists manually (which I personally do, for more control and the ability to change them later.)
They are a bit expensive because they are very powerful. Vanilla Crushed Ore is 50 caps, IED is 70 caps, C-4 and Pulse Charge are 100 caps. The materials needed to make these are pretty close to the value.
Crafting them requires the same perks as crafting mines, such as vanilla, but the ingredients are more demanding. For example, an IED needs to be an actual alarm clock and not just "plastic". The C-4 requires military grade circuit boards and not just "circuit".
If people find this too difficult, it's easy to change the recipe and I can provide an easier recipe option.

I know it's fun, but if you're going to stick around and do 50 explosions at the same time, it's a bit stifling to expect the game. This mod (and the game) doesn't really mean that when an explosion occurs, the engine does a lot of calculations to fig …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
