v0.30 update on June 24, 2016:
"Version 0.30 has been improved by converting the mod into a Fallout 4 plugin (.esp), which is now faster and easier to update than the previous method, but best of all, it significantly reduces the file size. Only uses the Creation Kit and should allow for console player compatibility.
Anyone using 0.10 or 0.20 will need to completely remove those versions before loading the game. This can be done before or after installing 0.30" - CAPGames
(CAPGames has hinted that he might be involved in an exciting addition to this mode, and it has me very excited for the upcoming academic break so I can try it out myself. Stay tuned!)
Mod Organizer 2 users:
The MO2 installation issues should be resolved at this point, although the installer has been reported to have frozen during installations in the past. It has been reported that setting the Fomod installer plugin to "Preferred: False" under the "Settings > Tools" section during installation can resolve this issue. You can return the setting to "True" after installation. Thanks to Destynova99 for identifying and resolving this issue.
v0.20 update on June 21, 2016:
Special thanks to CAPGames for updating this content for the Wasteland Workshop DLC and Contraptions DLC in my absence. All credit to him for adding the Wasteland Workshop DLC and Contraptions DLC audio files and updating the NMM installer for me.
Regarding future updates:
Currently, I am very focused on my academics. While I'm still available, CAPGames is happy to update this mod in my absence. If you have any update suggestions for Quieter Settlements, please leave him a message at .com.
Compatibility Notes:
This mod is made by generating different volume versions of the relevant .xwm and .wav sound files. FO4snip is not used. I don't create compatibility patches for other mods for two reasons: one, it would take a lot of time to add sounds to this mod, and two, if a mod uses custom sounds, that sound isn't a property I'd modify and redistribute. If a mod author wants to work with me on a compatibility patch for this mod, I'd be willing to talk to them.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
