About this mod Machine translation

Adjusts the angle of the Power Armor legs during animation and allows weapon animations to correctly use the finger position of WPNAssemblyPose and WPNFireReadySlaves.

Original address:

This mod was created with the help of behavioral knowledge from CarbonWaffle, xkhpack tool support from Jarari (Bingle), and screenshot assistance from TenSpeed. It changes a single game file: PowerArmorCharacter.hkx.

This mod only affects 3rd person Power Armor! This means players and NPCs.

First, it changes some of the IK parameters of the Power Armor leg, basically allowing it to be straighter during the idle animation.

However, unlike Cyph3rr's Mod Fallout 4 - Power Armor Idle Stance Fix, which pioneered the idea, this change is done in a way that preserves the IK functionality of the Legs, meaning they will still react to terrain changes (steps, edges, ramps, etc.).

Since both mods change the same file, they are incompatible.

Second, and this is more of a resource for mod authors, this mod allows Power Armor animations to correctly use the finger position of WPNAssemblyPose, WPNFireSingleReadySlave, and WPNFireAutoReadySlave, rather than reverting to the default position. Basically, with this mod installed, animators will be able to make the Power Armor fingers interact correctly with the weapons they are holding with much less work. This is already how it works with human third person; this mod just extends this functionality to Power Armor. For vanilla weapons, new animations may have to be made to see any difference.

Example completed using modified shotguns WPNAssemblyPose.hkx and WPNFireReadySingleSlave.hkx, provided as miscellaneous files:

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
