Author's words:
A little history about Soviet-era rocket pods.
The S-5 is a 55 mm (2.2 in) caliber unguided rocket launched from a 57 mm caliber launch tube. The earliest S-5 rockets were used by interceptor fighters of the Soviet Home Defense Force to bombard enemy large bombers from the air. Later, it was used by frontline fighter-bombers and helicopters against ground targets. It consists of a steel tube housing a solid-fuel rocket and a high-explosive warhead with a mechanical impact fuse. At the rear of the rocket is an elongated exhaust nozzle with eight connected forward-folding fins. The fins fold around the rocket when it's stored in the launch tube; they pop out once the rocket leaves the launch tube. In flight, the very slightly tilted fins exert a steady spin on the rocket, turning at about 750 rpm. The solid rocket motor only burns for 1.1 seconds, during which time it covers approximately 300 meters (980 feet) (in fact, when launched from an aerial vehicle, the vehicle itself will give the rocket an initial launch speed, and because the rocket warhead is a pointed cone, the true range of the air and ground is much greater than 300 meters).
The S-5 is housed in a rocket pod with between 4 and 32 rockets. The first is the ORO-57 launcher, which has capacities of 4, 8 and 16 rockets. The most typical is the ORO-57K for eight rockets, especially used on the MiG-19. Then, starting in the early 1960s, the typical launcher became the UB-16-57 with 16 rockets, in several variants, for helicopters and aircraft. UB stands for "universalnyi blok" since it can be carried on conventional bomb hardpoints, and the "57" refers to the actual diameter of the launch tube (the diameter of the rocket plus 2 mm). The first variant and the UB-16-57U had a tapered front, while the next variant, the UB-16-57D, had a blunt front. Starting in 1968, a UB-16-57UMP variant was produced, with a tapered front and five protruding inner tubes. In the 1970s, the UB-32 carried 32 rockets and was carried by heavier aircraft.
This is a scaled down version modified to be carried and fired from a Gatling laser frame. This weapon is intended for use in power armor, which is why its weight is so high. Also posted a photo of the chemical bench recipe and weapon base strength/damage.
The portable UB-16-57UMP rocket pod does not have any special animations or upgrades, nor will I be making any animations or upgrades for it. It's just a basic, no-frills weapon, just the way I like them.
As mentioned above, weapons in the red section cannot be improved or changed at the weapon workbench.

Mods are just that, they won't be modified unless it's a game-breaking issue.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
