Update January 8, 2025: You can now open the HUD Color/Opacity Settings section in the MCM from HUD Customization > Open.

Players can use Blink just like Tracer in Overwatch. The direction of the flash is triggered based on the direction of the player's movement, not the direction of the camera. Blink can be stored up to 3 times.

To use this feature, you must first configure the hotkeys in MCM. Go to the MCM menu, find 'Tracer Blink for Players' and register a hotkey.

In addition to hotkeys, various settings can be adjusted in the MCM, including the flashing charging icon. These will be explained below.

As shown in the MCM screenshot above, you can customize blink icon type, hotkeys, icon position and size, as well as blink distance and charging speed in MCM.

All items are easy to understand and require no additional explanation, but since the "INI file hotkeys" require clarification, they will be explained separately below.

"INI file hotkey"

This feature allows you to use Blink even if hotkey settings cannot be applied through the MCM, such as when using the Ctrl key or a controller. This method should only be used if hotkey settings cannot be set via the MCM.

  • Go to the F4SE\Plugins folder in the mod directory.
  • Open the Keycode Reference.txt file and find the number of the key you want to apply.
  • Open the blinkHotkey.ini file and change useiniFileHotkey=0 to 1, then enter the value you found in step 2 after keycode=.
  • After launching the game, go into MCM settings and enable the INI file hotkey.
  • To suppress hotkeys, disable the INI file hotkey option. To change the key, modify the value after keycode= and then disable and re-enable the INI file hotkey option.

Notice:

- If you encounter CTD when loading a save file, delete the PB_PlayerBlink.dll file located in the F4SE folder within the mod folder. This will disable the INI file hotkey, but it should prevent CTD from happening. I will fix this issue as soon as I determine the cause.

- Be sure to install all required mods listed below.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
