What does this module do?

This mod fixes a bug in the armor penetration system. It prevents incorrect attribute overrides when unequipping or changing weapons, ensuring an accurate and consistent gaming experience.

This fix now also applies to all NPCs.

This mod does not contain ESP or ESL files. It's just a .dll file.

Wait, there's already a mod that does this!

Yes and no. Unfortunately, I found that the fix worked too well. Changing weapons using the hotkey will reset the armor penetration to 0, even if the equipped weapon has armor penetration. When the hotkey is used, it actually disables armor penetration. Another armor penetration bug fix mod is now hidden with a link to this mod (doesn't work at the moment because does not allow me to mark this mod as obsolete. This F4SE solution works without this bug and is faster than the scripted version.

Can I update from an old mod?

Yes! I verified this.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
