As shown in the picture, the famous Jackhammer is an air hammer shotgun, a shotgun killer in the old Fallout. However, I don’t know it from the old Fallout, but from another game - Max Payne 1. Carrying this gun into the final building, coupled with Sam Lake’s constipated face, has a quite subtle feeling.
The packaged BA2 version and component moderator files have been uploaded together with the optional recoil adjustment file (slightly increasing the recoil to reflect the power), and you can choose to install it according to your needs.

Introduction
The Pancor Air Hammer Shotgun was designed by John Anderson in 1984 as a fully automatic bullpup shotgun for military use. Anderson was a veteran of the Korean War and had extensive experience using standard pump-action shotguns in the war. He intended to design a weapon that would improve this platform by providing tremendous stopping power, reliability and speed in a close combat role. Jackhammers have all three of these characteristics.
The way the air hammer shotgun operates is very interesting, combining many elements from historical firearms to create an elegant machine. The gun operates on a pneumatic blow mechanism, similar to the Mannlicher 1894 pistol. The recoil barrel moves an operating rod that projects the magazine drum into the battery through a series of unique geometric grooves machined on the outside of the drum, almost identical in concept to Webley-Fosbery automatic revolvers. When battery, the barrel itself sits in a series of countersunk notches in the drum, effectively creating a gas seal while indexing the drum, much like the 1895 Nagant revolver.
The gun was patented in 1987 and underwent U.S. military testing. The prototype built by Anderson performed well in trials, firing over 50,000 rounds with no noticeable wear on the gun. The jackhammer also features a pump-action grip that allows the user to manually cock the gun if the round fails to fire or lacks the power to cycle the action. This means it is almost impossible to get clogged during normal operation. Although the gun performed extremely well, as trials dragged on, Anderson's small New Mexico company quickly ran out of money and was forced to close before the military could give him a contract. Only three jackhammers were built, two of which were destroyed by HP White Laboratories during military testing. The only surviving jackhammer is Anderson's shop prototype, which he kept and later sold.
One idea Anderson would implement if the gun entered military service was to use the gun's drum to create anti-personnel mines. A fixture will be mounted on the magazine that will fire all ten rounds in the drum simultaneously when the magazine is stepped on. I've included such a device in this mod.
Most existing 3D models of the Pancor Jackhammer in other games are based on original patent drawings and differ significantly from the actual gun. However, my model is similar to the actual gun that Anderson kept and can be seen in great detail here. Forgotten Weapons provided excellent reference material, and I wanted to take a moment to thank Gun Jesus for the awesome original images.
This is my first attempt at making a full set of custom animations for a weapon, so if you encounter any bugs, or have any constructive criticism, please let me know!
The gun has one "quirk," but it doesn't really mess anything up too badly. There is an animation that causes the player's hand to temporarily slide forward on the gun's grip. It is part of the original SMG animation and I don't know how to replace it with my own animation (I made the correct animation but I don't know what the animation is called so I can replace it). However, it is very small …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
