This mod has been on my (original author BethesdaCODModding, the same below) computer for several months, but I haven’t played Fallout 4 to release it. But here it is for you now.
Details
The in-game name is |M4A1 | Customizable M4A1 added. Ported from Delta Force.
In Operation Delta, the M4A1 is a top-tier multi-purpose assault rifle favored for its high rate of fire, low recoil, and excellent and stable damage in combat and war modes. As a starter weapon, it is easy to unlock and highly customizable, usually designed for high control or rapid aiming (ADS) speed, using attachments such as AR trench barrels, FFC muzzle brakes, and laser sights.
Main features and performance
Role: Assault Rifle (Main Weapon).
Recoil: Highly controllable, allowing for precise and tight shooting in bursts.
Rate of Fire: Fast time to kill, making it competitive in close to mid-range engagements.
Versatility: Highly customizable with deep attachment options including barrels, grips, stocks and optics.
Popular equipment key areas
CONTROL/STABILITY BUILD: Focused on FFC dual-opening muzzle brakes, X25U angled combat grips, and AR heavy-duty grips for maximum stability.
Aggressive/Speed Build: Utilizes the DD Python handguard and red laser to maximize aiming speed, usually paired with 30- or 45-round magazines.
Stealth Build: Comes with a built-in silenced barrel or M7 suppressor.
Common attachments
Barrel: AR Trench Standard or Elite Long Barrel.
Muzzle: FFC double opening or titanium competition muzzle.
Grips: X25U Angled Combat Grip or Modular Era Rear Grip.
Stock: M16 A4 stabilized stock.
The M4A1 is often considered the most well-rounded weapon in the game, often outperforming or matching newer weapons when properly configured due to its low entry barrier and high damage potential.

How to get
Crafting: Can be crafted at the Chemistry Station.
Cheat: Type "Help M4A1 4" into the console command to get the ID, then type "Player.additem #"# as where you want to put the ID.
I'm on Fallout London and might add it to the London world space, or someone could do it for the original.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
