Old World Medicines
There are guns, bullets, knives, lasers, damn teddy bears, radiation, even
You also have deathclaws, which will take a huge toll on your health.
I (original author DesmondBeGood, the same below) was getting a little tired of constantly farming healing needles and using Furious Kaname over and over again, so I thought, let me make my own medical mod.
It felt like 7 years (actually it only took 19 days),
I bring you...old world medicine
Old World Medicines adds a host of pre-war medicines to the Commonwealth, introducing 17 new aid items, all balanced, contextually appropriate, and seamlessly integrated into the world.
From bandages and aspirin to white clover poultice, disinfectant wipes, and full gear, these new items give players more variety in healing and survival without disrupting the game's balance and tone (they were balanced with the original game's base medicines).
All items have been infused into level lists and should appear in health containers, first aid kits, vendors, and loot.
I've also included patches for MAIM for those of you using these mods - Redux and Immersive Animation Framework!
Install:
Just click install, manually using your favorite mod manager (MO2 recommended)
To install, drag the files into your Fallout 4Data folder and overwrite when prompted.
(I advise you not to do this)

FAQ:
Q: Can I craft these items at a crafting table?
Answer: No
Q: Can I patch (mod name) to match your mod?
Answer: Of course!
Q: Can these also be found on enemies and merchants?
Answer: Aid items will be generated where normal aid items are generated.
Q: I see missing textures, purple items, or red triangles!
A: This means the texture path is loading incorrectly, or the mesh is missing. Make sure you installed the mod correctly and that your mod manager isn't ignoring loose files. If you need to reinstall, let it overwrite everything. If the problem persists, tell me which project has the bug and I will investigate. Please check the comment section and please reply first. Don't flood my comment section with your comments about a problem that could have been fixed.
Q: Can I uninstall this mid-game?
Answer: Yes.
Q: Is this consistent with backstory/immersion safety?
Answer: Yes.
Q: Will they be generated immediately in old saves?
A: No, but I suggest you try the old "wait in a shelter bunker" approach. They are injected directly into the BOS's level list through scripts.
If it's a new archive, it should be generated immediately.
Q: Will this save be available on Xbox or PlayStation?
A: Not on PlayStation. What about Xbox? Maybe, maybe, I don't know, it depends on perform …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
