"Give me that old religion...that's good enough for me." —Johnny Cash
Eli, a religious wastelander from the West, challenges the protagonist to prove his worth by finding one of the last known "good books" in the Commonwealth, and facing a dangerous and mysterious trial along the way.
This module contains:
- Short to medium missions with gripping stories and 1-2 hours of new content
- Music, references and Easter eggs from Fallout 1 - New Vegas.
- Fully voiced players and NPCs
- Unique weapons and armor
- A simple underground home for players to use in the Glowing Sea
- Simple companion that can be used with both original and third-party modded companions
Full conversational interface - Compatible
Extended Conversation Interface - Compatible
South of the Sea - Compatible
To begin the mission, head west of the Wicked Shipping Fleet Lockup, where Eli will set up his camp in the wilderness.
Recommended level to start this mission is 8 - 10, preferably with a new/clean save. This is an early/mid game mission.
This mod adds a door to the Forgotten Church and an NPC to the shipwreck east of Spectacle Island, any mods that edit these cells may be incompatible or require a patch.
Friendly NPCs in this mod are essential and cannot be killed. This is done on purpose so as not to break the mission/immersion.
There are no DLC or any other mod requirements.
Once the mission is completed, Eli will be available as a companion that can be used with Mod and vanilla companions. What he would say in battle and when asked what he thought.
Eli's speech check for more caps may be buggy/not working, possibly related to his companion quest after the main quest is completed. Should work but looking for a solution indefinitely.
A musical track should play when Eli and Gawonii are first greeted. If you don't hear them, try reloading before encountering them. This is not recommended in new world spaces to avoid brownface errors.
Take advantage of everything in Eli's Camp and the Underground Gamer House.
Mods recommended for this mod:
Classic Holster Weapon System - This makes the equipped weapon visible and adds to Eli's aesthetic
Unbogus Health Scaling & Create Your Own Difficulty - Makes hostile NPCs more believable, missions at high levels
Still challenging Voice actors:
Eli - Mark McCauley
Gawonii - Kerem Erdinc
Pastor Cain - LetterE

Mark McCauley, the voice of Eli, with his perfect Western cowboy voice, thank you for bringing Eli to life, mate.
Kerem Erdinc, the voice of Gawonii, that mysterious tribal voice I was looking for.
Please report any bugs, compatibility issues, questions and concerns to muah. Good luck, mate.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
